We Upgraded to 1.18.2 and above!

Hey gamers, i know it's been very back and forth with 1.8 support, but we decided to upgrade to 1.18.2 and only supporting newer versions. We have put our trust into our **Server-Side** 1.8 combat mechanics, and will refine it to offer an enjoyable experience for all of you hardcore PvP players.

We are aware that dropping support for older versions will:

1. Make certain clients unplaybe or not supported.
2. Might be more performance demanding on some lower-end computers.

But please bear with us as we adapt to this major change, and we will try our best to improve G C Network PvP modes to your taste!

We wanted to make this change since it would help us to:

1. Have more creative freedom
2. Allow players to use new features (blocks, tools, armor, mobs, etc.)
3. Offer new and fresh content to our players (minigames, game modes, emotes, cosmetics, custom models, new weapons/armor/tools, battle passes that are actually worth it, etc.)

Don't worry, the classic cosmetics will still be available!

Why drop backwards compatibility? 

To simply put it, 1.8 is ancient and even though 1.12.2 is arguably the best performing Minecraft version, it is very limiting in terms of features or content that we could create. We are dropping backwards compatibility because it is quite literally impossible with the new direction we want to go. (older versions will not be able to interact with certain features, or use certain items, or enjoy the same experience as the base version.)

Upgrading to 1.18.2 will also make it easier on our team to maintain servers and update them to newer versions in the future. This change could also potentially open new doors for G C Network in partnerships or content creation.
